Nicholas II
(1868 – 1918) was the last Tsar of
Russia. He
ruled from 1894 until his abdication in 1917.
Nicholas proved unable to
manage a country in political turmoil and command
its army in World War I. His rule ended with the
Russian Revolution of 1917. He
is currently regarded as Saint Nicholas the
Passion Bearer by the Russian Orthodox Church.
